Some varieties have cracked fruit weight, and some varieties have a certain expansion pressure due to the rapid expansion of the fruit during the later period of fruit development, resulting in cracking. Fruits with good elasticity have a light fruit crack and light fruits with high fruit setting rate. Trees with a high seed setting rate provide relatively low moisture and nutrients for each fruit. The fruit expansion rate is slow and the cracking fruit is light, which is also a high fruit setting rate. One of the reasons for the late maturity of the fruit, such as Rabins, Pioneer, Sato Jin cracked light, Rene and other cracked fruit.

Soil clay soils have poor permeability. After rain or watering, soil moisture is too large. The water absorbed by the root system is transported to the fruit in large amounts, and the fruit cells are cracked due to water swelling. After draining the well-drained sandy loam, the water quickly penetrates, and the soil is not easy to compact. The soil has good water-holding capacity and the roots absorb water evenly, so it is not easy to crack the fruit.

Moisture fruit in the near mature period is flooded with rain or flooding, causing the soil moisture to change rapidly. The water is transported to the fruit through the root system, which causes the pulp cells to expand rapidly, the expansion pressure in the fruit increases, and the peel bursts and causes fruit cracking. Rapid changes in the moisture content of the air also cause cracking. If the actual maturity period is cloudy or rainy, the air humidity in the greenhouse increases (above 80%), and the humidity in the greenhouse decreases sharply after a sunny day or when the air is released suddenly. Will cause a lot of cracks.

For other reasons, low calcium and potassium content in fruits can also cause cracking. It was determined that sweet cherry with high calcium content was lightly cracked.
