According to the person in charge of the honeysuckle eco-park, the honeysuckle generally begins to sprout in early March and belongs to the syphilis plant. Photosynthesis must be carried out under certain sunlight in order to enrich the branches. The growth of honeysuckle accelerates with the increase of temperature. The optimum temperature for growth is 25°C. This year, too much rain and insufficient photosynthesis result in the appearance of honeysuckle flowers and rot. Continuous rain has caused losses to growers.

Why did the bud of honeysuckle in our city delay? According to agricultural experts, the growth of honeysuckle has a certain relationship with meteorological factors such as temperature, precipitation, and sunshine. Meteorological disasters such as late spring and low temperature and continuous rain may cause honeysuckle production to decline. Meteorological department statistics show that there are more than ten days of rainy weather this year, while the temperature in February is 2.7°C lower than the temperature in the same period. Excessive rainfall, low temperatures and other factors are not conducive to the growth of honeysuckle, resulting in delayed budding of honeysuckle.

The experts of the Bureau of Meteorology reminded that the honeysuckle growers should strengthen the field management in spring and adopt the main technical measures.
