Pakistan cancels ban on import of poultry products from China

According to a Pakistani "Daily Times" report on December 15, recently the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce decided to abolish the import ban on processed poultry products and cooked foods and allow the import of certified poultry products from China.

According to a recent regulatory amendment issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the Pakistani Federal Government decided to amend the 2009 Import Policy Act and replace some of the terms. The amended decree stipulates that the ban will no longer apply to imports of processed poultry products and cooked foods from China. However, relevant products still need to meet certain processing standards and be certified by a Chinese authority before they can export to Pakistan.
