COFCO and Jilin Province Cooperate to Promote the Development of Pig Industry

Since COFCO and Jilin Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in 2010, cooperation has achieved positive results and has become an important force for Jilin’s agricultural product processing industry. Recently, COFCO and Jilin Songyuan signed the "Investment Agreement for the Development of Healthy Pig Industrialization Project between Songyuan Municipal People's Government and Zhongliang Meat Investment Co., Ltd.". According to the agreement, COFCO plans to invest 3.6 billion yuan in Changling County from 2012 to 2014. Construct 2 million pig breeding bases, feed mills, slaughterhouses and 50,000 tons of meat processing plants. The two parties will work together to actively promote the development of the pig industry and stick to the path of specialization, science, and scale.
