In recent years, the price of mutton sheep has risen steadily, the breeding efficiency has been good, and the peasant households have a high degree of enthusiasm for breeding. However, in the production process, there are still some details that are not done well and it is hoped that the sheep farmers will receive attention.

Build a sheep house

Free-range households or small-scale farmers, the sheep's pens are too simple, winter can not keep warm, can not be insulated in summer, the home environment is too poor, can not meet the requirements of feeding, lay the hidden dangers for the occurrence of the disease.

The sheep house should be constructed in a place with high dryness, sunny leewardness, and good hydropower conditions. In the cold regions of the north, single slope sheep houses can be used. The single slope type sheep house is generally 2.5 meters high, 2.0 meters high, and 6 to 7 meters deep. The length can be determined according to the number of breeding. A semi-shelf type sheep house can be built in a warm northern area. The mode is similar to that of a single slope type. The difference is that the rear slope of the semi-sheltered sheep house is a permanent shed, and the top half is an arched plastic film roof. The arch's material is bamboo. Remove the film in the summer to create a shed-style sheep house. It is usually 2.5 meters high in the beam, 2 meters high on the back wall, and 1.2 meters high on the front wall.

Avoid polyculture

Many farmers only have one large sheep house, regardless of size, male and female, and weak, and are all housed in a sheep house. Some of the density is too high. Seriously affect the production performance of mutton sheep. Therefore, it is recommended that farmers categorize the flock and keep it in different pens and provide different levels of husbandry and management. There must be enough slots, space for activities, and resting places in the pens.
Lack of feed

Sheep farmers generally do not produce silage, and feed straw and grain throughout the winter. Because the nutrient level cannot keep up, the sheep are small and the feeding cycle is long, which restricts the economic benefits of raising sheep. It is recommended that farmers develop green-green fodder-dedicated land, and cultivate forage grasses such as Prunus persicae, Mexican corn, and ryegrass. In addition to feeding in summer and autumn, dry hay or silage can be produced after harvest in autumn.

Do not value disinfection

The vast majority of free-standing households do not have a sense of disinfection and do not engage in disinfection for many years. Some farmers, even if they are sterilized, use lime sprinkles. Farmers should strengthen the awareness of disinfection, overcome the paralysis, and do a good job of daily disinfection. To use different types of disinfectants for rotation, sheep houses, sports grounds, feeding troughs, drinking fountains, feeding tools and residential homes should be disinfected. The disinfection of sheep houses is generally carried out in three steps: First, thorough cleaning. The second is rinse with water. The third is to use a disinfectant spray disinfection. The sheep house and the activity site are sterilized at least once a month. Disinfection should be performed every other day when the flock is infested.
