Preparing for ploughing soon, seeds are a must for farmhouses. How to identify seed quality? The quality of common seeds can be judged from eight aspects: true, pure, net, full, strong, healthy, dry, and strong. In the absence of seed test conditions, such methods can be used:
Visual inspection determines the quality of the seed. Such as the seeds of the seed plump, uniformity, impurities and the number of incomplete grains, the color is normal, there is no pest, plaque or mildew.
The nose of the olfactory test judges whether or not the seed has become mildewed, deteriorated, and smells. For example, the seeds that have sprouted are sweet, and the seeds that are moldy have a sour or alcoholic taste.
Tactile inspections such as hand insertion into the seed bag feel loose, smooth, small resistance, audible noise, when the seeds are caught by hand, the seed easily falls from the hand and the moisture is small.
Tooth examination test uses a tooth to gently increase the pressure and cut off the seed grain. If the feeling is arduous, the sound is crisp, the soft plasmid ends are powdered off, and the hard plasmid ends are neat, so the moisture content is low.
The auditory test grabbed a seed tightly grasped, five-finger activity, listening to whether or not the rustling sound; with the peel of the species to shake or raise the sound of hearing, generally the greater the sound, the less water content.
When buying seeds, you should select seeds that are produced and distributed by reputable seed companies. When purchasing seeds, ask for purchase vouchers, product specifications, and seed labels.
