Usage A histamine H1-receptor antagonist. An active metabolite of Loratadine 
Usage Nonsedating-type histamine H1-receptor antagonist. An active metabolite of Loratadine. Also inhibits generation and release of inflammatory mediators from basophils and mast cells. 
Usage antiinflammatory 
Usage For the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial (non-seasonal) allergic rhinitis. Desloratidine is also used for the sympomatic treatment of pruritus and urticaria (hives) associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria. 

 

Desloratadine is used to relieve hay fever and allergy symptoms, including sneezing; runny nose; and red,itchy, tearing eyes. It is also used to treat hives. Desloratadine is in a class of medications calledantihistamines. It works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

How should this medicine be used?
Desloratadine comes as a tablet, oral solution (liquid), and an orally disintegrating tablet to take bymouth. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. Follow the directions on your prescriptionlabel carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Takedesloratadine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed byyour doctor.To take the orally disintegrating tablet, use dry hands to peel back the foil packaging. Immediately takeut the tablet and place it on your tongue. The tablet will quickly dissolve and can be swallowed withsaliva. Orally disintegrating tablets may be taken with or without water.
